  • Ankylosing Spondylitis

    Spondylitis - Ankylosing spondylitis

"Ankylosing spondylitis (AS), from the Greek ankylos, crooked; spondylos, vertebrae; and itis, inflammation, is a chronic, inflammatory disease which involves inflammation of the joints between the spinal bones and the joints between the spine and pelvis with pain and stiffness of joints. It affects mainly the spine (especially in the lumbo-thoracic area) and the sacroiliac joints, but can also affect other joints or organs.

It is a chronic (not temporary) joint disease (especially affecting the spine) that can cause inflammation and stiffening of the spine (ankylosing = stiffening). They can also affect other joints, or other organs of the body. Ankylosing spondylitis is an immune disease. The disease is more common and more severe in men. It often runs in families. Allopathy, that is, conventional medicine still considers it incurable, but modern homeopathy can stimulate the natural healing processes of the body and heal it by reducing the intensity, duration and frequency of stiffness.

    Early symptoms and diagnosis:
In the early stages, the symptoms are usually nonspecific and are therefore often misdiagnosed. However, today there are Criteria established by experienced rheumatologists on the basis of which any doctor can make an accurate diagnosis. Nevertheless, between the early symptoms and a confirmed diagnosis, several years can pass by.

The following symptoms are characteristic in the beginning of ankylosing spondylitis:

    • Deep-seated back pain associated with a restriction of movement in the lumbar spine and radiating to the thigh
    • Slow (insidious) onset, which drags on for weeks (no sudden attack-within hours)
    • Persistence of symptoms for more than 3 months
    • Onset of the disease, preferably between the ages of 15 and 30 years
    • Stiffness and pain, especially in the early morning hours
    • Improvement during movement and aggravation during rest (much more common in non-inflammatory back pain).

Besides these common initial symptoms, the following criteria taken together may give an indication of ankylosing spondylitis:

    • Unbalanced inflammation of individual joints (e.g. hip, knee),
    • Heel pain or other Tendon inflammation,
    • Inflammation of the iris (iritis) in the eyes,
    • Pain over the sternum, restricting stretching the chest with no apparent cause,
    • Temporary improvement by a non-steroidal (cortisone-free) anti-inflammatory medication (allopathic) within 48 hours and recurrence of pain after discontinuation of the drug.

The presence of the marker HLA-B27 does not prove the existence of ankylosing spondylitis. Conversely, the absence of the marker does not prove that there is no ankylosing spondylitis. The finding provides the physician only some evidence of whether the patient has ankylosing spondylitis.

    Homeopathic treatment

Homeopathy stimulates the natural healing processes of the body - it is one of the sensible methods that can be applied. There are no side effects and the natural healing processes of the body are strengthened by homeopathic treatment. Homeopathy can stimulate the natural healing processes of the body and heal ankylosing spondylitis by reducing the intensity, duration and frequency of stiffness.

Homeopathy is the science of therapeutics by which minute, nano-particulate doses of medicines which are capable of producing in healthy persons, symptoms similar to the disease to be treated are administered. Only a minimal amount of the medicinal agent is used. Homeopathy, a therapeutic method of alternative medicine, including complementary medicine, is based primarily on experience. Homeopathy is based on the principles of 'hormesis' the efficacy of which has been known since about 2000 years, but homeopathy was established as a therapeutic science about 200 years ago by the German physician Dr. Hahnemann. It is growing exponentially and statistics show that the homeopathy market has been growing at the rate of 30% annually, as it is effective for many diseases and conditions.
